Blowing Bubbles

Get your venture capital, count your angels, and warm up the webvan!! Its boom time, baby!! Woo!

Someone out there that MUST remember the niceties of Kozmo, Webvan, and over a dozen valley ventures left to the vultures. It may be time to take out the Ouija boards and start yer speculatin'. Wait, wait, stop... Why Bart? Why [tears welling] are you so cynical?

Today, I found this gem of a new postal service that will collect your postal mail for you, scan it, then do one of two things with it: archive it [securely] or recycle it. Pause. THEN they will email you all your mail in pdf format for your personal and secure review and oh! a small fee :)

Someone throw me a bone. I might be shooting the moon here, but I'd bet the farm the numbers are pushing $250mil in their conservative estimates of EBITDA after angel funding.

Lets think through this. I pay someone to collect and archive my mail. Now, I get a shit ton of mail. I move a lot. Ok, I like where this is going. Hold on... I never have to open another envelope? Almost never. Ok. Wait, where is my mail going? Really, where?! Oh, any major city! Great! Wha.. What was that? Recommended city? And that is...?

Wait for it ... Beaverton ... Oregon.

Wow. You know? I might grab the horses of the apocalypse by the reigns and check this out. Overhead? What overhead? With a simple pricing model [cough] and no hidden fees [cough cough], we can count on an IPO in their future. [Hmm, I could finally do something with all that cash that's burning a hole in my eelskin murse.]

Tonight's toast goes to Beaverton's postal processors, the mavens of mail, remotecontrolmail.com. While I go blow some bubbles.
